📝 Ingredients
- 200 g rolled oats (jumbo)
- 60 g mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts)
- 30 g seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame)
- 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2 tbsp coconut or sunflower oil
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch fleur de sel
- 50 g dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, apricots) — added after baking
- Optional: 1 egg white for big granola clusters
🍴 Utensils
- Large bowl
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Airtight jar for storage
📖 Steps
- Preheat the oven to 160 °C. In the large bowl, mix the oats, roughly chopped nuts, seeds, cinnamon and fleur de sel.
- Heat the honey and coconut oil in the microwave for 30 sec to liquefy. Pour over the dry mix and stir until everything is well coated.
- If you want clustered granola: stir in the egg white. This protein makes the oats stick together as they bake.
- Spread evenly on the baking tray. The layer should be no more than 1 cm thick for even crunchiness.
- Bake for 20–25 min, stirring ONLY ONCE halfway through. Keep an eye on it: it browns quickly towards the end. Goal: golden amber.
- Take out of the oven and let cool COMPLETELY without touching — granola hardens as it cools. If you stir it while hot, you'll break up the clusters.
- Add the dried fruit once completely cool. Store in an airtight jar for up to 3 weeks.
💡 FitBot tip: Never stir more than once in the oven — it stops clusters from forming. And always let it cool before tasting: granola seems soft straight out of the oven but turns completely crunchy as it cools.
